Turning your newsletter into a 30-person publication

Plus, advice for growing from 0 to 48K followers and growing plants on the Moon

Hello storytellers! It’s no secret that around 90% of creator-focused companies are not solving major pain points for creators. Nobody needs yet another bank or financial tool. Which brings us to a very important question: what creator economy companies are you excited about? What products make you go like this?

If none exist, what are the products you wish existed? Let us know and we’ll include your answers in the next newsletter. All you need to do is hit the reply button :)

Things you should know about

TV just got way more (P)interesting: That’s right. Soon you’ll be able to watch shows and livestreams while you look for ideas on redecorating your apartment. Pinterest just signed a multimillion dollar deal with Tastemade, which will result in new 50 shows, live videos and events that you can easily pin. It will be interesting to see which Pinterest creators branch out into deals of their own after this.

When a newsletter becomes a 30-person media company: What if your newsletter became a publication that employed 30 other people? How wild would this be? How to get 48K Twitter followers in a year: It may sound impossible but this is exactly what The Wolf of Franchises did. In just a year, they grew their anon account from 0 to 48,000 followers. They broke down the strategies and tactics that fueled this growth here. TL;DR: niche and consistency are key.

Just for fun

You can now grow plants on the Moon. For real, scientists Robert Ferl and Anna-Lisa Paul have found a way to grow terrestrial plants in lunar soil, which is devoid of basic life-sustaining nutrients. The study was a part of NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to launch a permanent presence on the Moon by 2030. While the plants that were currently grown are nothing special by earthly standards, it is quite impressive that scientists were able to do this at all. One small step for agriculture, a giant leap for mankind.
